Ballyhoo Too is a Bruce Farr designed Mumm 36, built by Robertson and Caine in 1994. She has been extensively and successful raced over the last 25 years and is well known at RCYC.

Despite being a respectable 25 years old, the Cape2Rio2020 will be Ballyhoo’s maiden ocean crossing. She is certainly not the most comfortable boat for an ocean crossing, but she is exciting to sail and fast downwind, especially in light breeze.

She has recently had a major refit to prepare her for her first ocean race and to make her better suited for double handed sailing.

The double handed crew of Ballyhoo (Rijk Kuttel and Christopher Garratt) are old friends and the Cape2Rio2020 will be both their 4th Rio Race, and their 3rd sailing together on the same boat.
