Cape2Rio2020 photos taken by the race photographer are at:  It contains Galleries by event and there is a gallery for each boat in the Entries collection.  These will be updated with finishing photos and with happenings in Rio.  For example, Saravah’s gallery is at  If you need high resolution photos without the watermarks, 2048 (or more) pixels high or wide, there is pricing information noted at the top of each gallery.

The cape2rio2020 website media section is not restricted, you may download any of the content available.  Most of the videos are on Youtube.  In the case of photographs in the galleries, you should click the desired picture, which will open in a new window on, and use a right-click or download button above the photo to download the size you require (XX large, X large, large, medium or small).  Only the original files are protected and require a password. Please contact us if larger sizes are required.

Media accreditation applications from freelance media and media representatives are invited to apply for coverage of the Cape2Rio2020 Yacht Race.

  1. Approval of any application for accreditation is not automatic and preference will be given if accompanied by a letter from their commissioning media outlet confirming that the applicant is working on their behalf and stating how the photos or article/s on the race will be used.
  2. Approved media representatives will be issued with temporary membership to the Royal Cape Yacht Club along with a “Press Pass” for identification to competitors. This temporary membership will be valid from the 1st of October 2019 until the 12th of January 2020. Media representatives may make full use of the Club’s facilities including wireless internet access, desks, power, restaurant and function rooms.
  3. Positions on media boats for the start dates of the 4th and the 11th of January will be restricted to working media only and places will be limited.
  4. Accreditation allows media representatives the right to download copyright free high-resolution images of the Race for editorial purposes. A login link to the website will be given once accreditation is approved.

You will be notified by email if your media accreditation has been approved. Your media pass will be available for collection at the Royal Cape Yacht Club.
